Dandelion flower tea has been used traditionally for various health benefits.
Rich in Antioxidants
Dandelion flowers are high in polyphenols and flavonoids, which help fight oxidative stress and inflammation. These antioxidants may support overall health and protect against cellular damage.
Anti-Inflammatory Properties
Traditionally used to ease joint pain, muscle aches, and inflammation, thanks to natural anti-inflammatory compounds.
Supports Skin Health
The flower is often used in skin applications, but drinking the tea may also support healthy skin due to its cleansing and antioxidant properties.
Mild Detoxification
Dandelion flower may have gentle diuretic and cleansing effects, helping flush toxins.
Immune Support
Contains vitamin C and beta-carotene, which may help boost the immune system.
Digestive Soothing
Light and floral, dandelion flower tea can help with mild indigestion or bloating, acting as a gentle digestive aid.
Caffeine-Free
Naturally caffeine-free, making it a calming herbal option for any time of day
Step 1: Harvesting the Flowers
Pick from a clean area — Make sure the dandelions are free from pesticides, herbicides, and car exhaust, and away from roadsides, pet paths, or sprayed lawns. Choose fresh, fully opened yellow flowers (not wilted or going to seed). Pinch just below the flower head. You don’t need the stem — just the petals or the full flower head.
Step 2: Making Dandelion Flower Tea
The flowers can be used fresh or dried but always remove the green parts to avoid any unwanted bitterness. Shake and rinse the flowers to remove dirt or bugs, but try not to wash away too much pollen, as it adds flavour.
